Jamaica Grain and Cereals Limited had its beginning in 1969 as The Jamaica Cornmeal Plant, which was fully acquired by Seprod in 1996. Today, JCGL is a state-of-the-art Multi-Grain Milling facility that is well suited to supply customized wheat flour products, to meet the highest quality and service requirements of the most demanding Artisan, Industrial and Commercial Bakers in the region. The Company has been producing Counter Flour, Baking Flour, Whole Wheat Flour and specialty value-added products under the Gold Seal brand, since March 2018.

In addition, with our investment in upgrading the Maize Mill, we are now able to meet the requirements for all corn-based foods, with a primary target being the snack food manufacturers. Our Golden Grain refined corn meal is second to none, as well as Baker’s Grits, and Hominy Corn. Our Pronto “three-minute” instant porridge is available in Cinnamon, Vanilla and the Banana flavour.

Jamaica Grain and Cereals has grain storage capacity of over 27,500 metric tons. The deep water Grain Terminal at Kingston Wharves, Ltd enables JGCL to receive large grain vessels and affords the flexibility to purchase grain from the most advantageous sources.

Quality and service are JGCL’s business model. Out investment includes an on-site fully equipped cereal chemistry laboratory to ensure the quality of our Gold Seal flour. Additionally, we bake every day in our R&D bakery to confirm that consistent Gold Seal quality in each bag.

We are committed to food safety and are FSSC 22000 certified. In addition to FSSC 22000, we are also certified by multiple international third party suppliers, Quality Management Systems Audits.
