Seaboard’s vessel, the African Kalmia, was delivered to Seaboard on January 15, 2016 and completed its maiden voyage from Wenchong Shipyard in China to Hong Kong.

The African Kalmia, the third vessel in a series of four was purposely designed to be fuel and energy efficient, as well as being shallow draft and highly maneuverable. This new design makes it especially suitable for West African ports.  The new vessels are capable of trading worldwide and are certified to carry a wide range of general and bulk cargoes, including dangerous cargoes. They are also highly suitable for Seaboards grain trade.  The last vessel in this series, the African Magnolia, is expected to be completed around March 2016.  We wish the African Kalmia and her crew smooth sailing on her future voyages.
