For the second year in a row, Moderna Alimentos selected the Ñucata Cuyay – Child Development Center for their charitable contribution; the center implements cultural and recreational programs to support the educational development of indigenous children in the community of Colta, Chimborazo in Ecuador.

Reading is the most powerful way to access to all knowledge, as well as the enrichment of critical thinking to find alternatives or concrete solutions to problems; it is a tool that allows children to develop confidence, creativity and empathy which are crucial capabilities for their integral development. Additionally, solitary reading promotes dialogue, group reading or general debate; achieving the development of different types of products (written, oral, pictorial, diffusion-limited to the environment or national scope) that will promote new readings and attract new readers.

For the past two years, SOTG and Moderna have given monetary donations to this organization. The donation will be put towards the implementation of reading activities for the children of Ñucata Cuyay Community Center with the purpose of promoting the development of their self-esteem, integrity, resilience, empathy, creativity and perseverance; fundamental strengths for a happy and successful childhood.
