Acquired a flour mill in Guayaquil, Ecuador

Acquired a flour mill in Guayaquil, Ecuador, in a joint venture with Continental Grain Company, marking first overseas operation., in a joint venture with Continental Grain Company, marking first overseas operation.

1968

Constructed a flour mill in West Africa

Constructed a flour mill in Freetown, Sierra Leone in West Africa marking Seaboard’s first investment on the African continent.

Constructed a flour mill in Georgetown, Guyana.

Seaboard acquired National Milling of Liberia, located in Buchanan, Liberia. It produced vitamin-enriched wheat flour.

Purchased National Milling Corporation in Lusaka, Zambia.

Acquired an interest in and renovated an existing flour mill in Luanda, Angola.

Acquired an interest in Unga, Ltd., a major producer of flour, maize meal, and stockfeeds throughout Kenya.

Acquired through privatization the assets of a state-owned flour mill in Pointe Noire, Republic of Congo.

Acquired an equity interest in a flour mill in Cartagena, Colombia.

Acquired an equity interest in a grain trading business in Peru Commenced rice trading business under the name SeaRice, Ltd.

2008

Created a joint venture company in Ecuador between affiliate Molinos del Ecuador, Moderna Alimentos, and Molino electromoderna to form Grupo Moderna.

Acquired a stake in Colombian feed milling company, CIPA S.A, with plants located in Bello and Cartago, Colombia.

Acquired Fillmore Seeds – a processor and shipper of specialty crops; acquired ownership of Stewart Southern Railway, a short-line railroad servicing the Fillmore Seeds facilities, located in Fillmore, Saskatchewan, Canada.

Acquired a stake in PS International Ltd., an international trading company specializing in the trading of bulk agricultural commodities, based in Morrisville, North Carolina.

Seaboard Corporation increased its ownership of PS International (PSI), based in Morrisville, North Carolina.

Acquired a new milling facility in Tema, Ghana, which is now called Flour Mills of Ghana Ltd.

Acquired ownership of Paramount Mills, an industrial milling operation located in East London, South Africa.

The African Juniper (2005 built) 18k DWT geared – bulker was acquired in line with the fleet renewal strategy.

Increased ownership of PS International.

Completed construction on a flour mill in Banjul, Gambia through a joint venture called Gambia Milling Corporation, Ltd.

The African Joseph R (2006 built) and the African Jacaranda (2007 built) 18k DWT geared-bulkers were acquired in line with the fleet renewal strategy.

Acquired a stake of RussellStone Protein, a soy crush operation outside of Pretoria, South Africa.

Acquired ownership in Belarina Alimentos, a company specializing in the Brazilian bakery market, located in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

2015

The African Lily Vessel, shallow-draft, fuel efficient bulk cargo ship made her maiden voyage in July.

Acquired ownership in Bag Yaglari, a cotton and soy crush operation located in Izmir and Iskenderun, Turkey.

The African HHB Vessel, flagship of a new fleet of shallow draft/fuel efficient bulk cargo, sales her first maiden voyage in November.

The African Kalmia Vessel completes her maiden voyage in January.

The African Magnolia Vessel, in a series of four, sets sail in April.

Seaboard increases ownership interest in Belarina Alimentos, S.A.

Seaboard acquires Blue Hills Processors, a pulse processing facility in Saskatchewan, Canada.

Acquired substantially all of the Groupe Mimran, which operates flour and feed milling businesses in the Ivory Coast and Senegal, and a grain trading business in Monaco.

Acquired an interest in Les Grands Moulins de Mauritanie (GMM), a milling and pasta business in Nouakchott, Mauritania.

2019

Seaboard Overseas Peru, previously named ContiLatin celebrates 25 year anniversary.

Seaboard Corporation acquired remaining shares of ContiLatin del Peru S.A. (CLDP). CLDP changed its company name to Seaboard Overseas Peru.

NAMILCO Guyana celebrates 50 year anniversary.

National Milling Corporation, completed a new mill in Zambia that features a new five-story, 5,300-square-meter flour milling facility built on 25 acres.
